Memorial Day Weekend...And Why I Choose to Celebrate!
Updated: Jun 6, 2020
”ou never know what's gonna happen. You make your plans and you hear God laughing. Life changes, and I wouldn't change it for the world.” - Thomas Rhett
Yup. Life changes...Boy, do I know...
Memorial Day weekend has always been a weekend that reminds me of how life truly changes.
In fact, it was exactly six years ago, Memorial Day weekend 2014, when my life completely changed. That weekend I missed my oldest daughter’s first ever preschool graduation and her precious ballet recital because of an involuntary hospitalization.
Missing those monumental events in a mother’s life was completely heartbreaking; however it was the care and treatment I received during the hospitalization that traumatized me.
It has taken me years and years to process and cope with the devastation of Memorial Day weekend 2014, however, I have made a full recovery and I choose to live my life each day focusing on the good and celebrating every moment I can!
Because, at the end of the day, our most challenging times and epic battles actually make life so much sweeter. It teaches us to appreciate the wonderful moments filled laughter, happiness, and fun.
So, let’s choose to celebrate those little moments, the big ones, and every changing moment in between!
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
