If I am going to be honest, the past few days I needed a minute to reflect and be sad about our world, the current state we are in, and the stress and anxiety we face.
Right now, it feels like we are in constant arguments and debates about who is right, who is wrong, what people should or should not be doing...
And, for me that’s a very difficult environment to live in, because all I really want to do is see the good and beauty in this world, and enjoy every moment I can.
However, I have realized that many things in life are out of our control. But, I have learned that we have the power to focus on the things we can control which is why I choose to focus on love.
For me, love is patient, love is kind. And, today’s Celebrate Sunday post is inspired by the person who has shown me what it truly means to love... my dad.
If anyone knows my dad, they know that he lives and breathes patience and kindness. The way he unconditionally supports and loves my mom and our family is the greatest example and biggest blessing in my life.
Although, many would argue my mom “wears the pants” in the relationship, my dad truly is the patriarch. My dad is soft spoken but his words are heard loud and clear. His actions are often subtle but his spirit is infectious. He is patient and kind to everyone.
He is my hero and everything I want my children to see of what it means to be The Man.
My dad puts my mom, his kids, and his grandkids above everything. His office isn’t filled with his own awards, accolades and diplomas, but he has earned endless trophies by being our coach, our leader, and our biggest fan. He is our MVP and he shows up for us no matter where, when or how.
He is also the peacemaker in our family. He listens. He hears. He mediates. He advises. He calms the waters when our big family experiences rocky waves.
He is a dish washer, a diaper changer, a wine pourer, a grill master, a joke teller, a taxi driver, a piggy back ride giver and a game player.
He never, never, never gives up. He appreciates all simple things in life that matter most. He exemplifies unconditional love.
He is truly the world’s greatest, and I am proud and honored to celebrate The Man, The Myth, The Legend: My Dad, Dick Angel.
Cheers to Dick and to All The Man’s, The Myths and The Legends in this World!
We Celebrate You!
